01. Agreement
By creating an HZen account, downloading the HZen app, or using HZen on the web, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use HZen.
02. Who can use HZen
You must be at least 13 years old to use HZen, and at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to enter into the subscription portions of the service. By using HZen you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
03. What HZen is — and isn’t
HZen offers guided meditation, breathwork, journaling, somatic practices, and community-circle content for general wellness and educational purposes. HZen is not medical care. HZen is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

04. Your account
- You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information at sign-up and keep authentication credentials secure.
- You will not share your account or authentication credentials with others.
- You may delete your account and associated personal data at any time inside the app at Profile → Delete account or through our account deletion request page.
05. Community guidelines
Community Circles and direct messages are anonymous, reflective spaces. To keep them safe and supportive, you agree not to post, upload, or transmit:
- Harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, or content targeting any protected group.
- Sexually explicit content, content sexualizing minors, or any illegal material.
- Spam, scams, commercial solicitations, advertising, phishing, or links intended to defraud.
- Self-harm or suicide encouragement or glorification. (Reflecting constructively on your own journey is welcomed; encouraging or instructing harm is strictly prohibited.)
- Personally identifiable information (yours or anyone else’s) that could compromise anonymity.
- Any content that infringes upon a third party’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or proprietary rights.
HZen provides built-in Block and Report tools. Our safety team reviews reports and may remove content, restrict messaging, or permanently terminate accounts that violate these guidelines, typically within 24 hours of report submission.
06. Subscriptions, trials, and plan changes
Certain sanctuary experiences and modules are reserved for active paid members (Premium and Signature tiers). Subscriptions are processed securely via Stripe and renew automatically at the start of each billing period until cancelled.
- Free trial. New subscribers may receive a 7-day free trial on Premium. If you do not cancel before the trial concludes, your designated payment method is charged for the recurring subscription period. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.
- Changing plans. You can transition between Premium and Signature at any time from your account settings. Upgrades and downgrades are prorated for the active period. Switching tiers during a free trial preserves the remainder of your trial.
- Cancellation. You can cancel future renewals at any time with a single tap in the subscription-management portal. Access remains active through the end of the paid billing cycle, after which the account transitions to the free tier.
- Failed payments. If a scheduled renewal payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry over a grace period while notifying you. If payment cannot be completed, access will revert to the free tier.
07. Refunds
Except where mandated by applicable law, subscription payments are non-refundable, and we do not issue prorated refunds for partial billing periods after cancellation. For memberships initiated via the Apple App Store or Google Play, refund requests are governed by Apple or Google under their respective marketplace terms.
08. Content you post
You retain full ownership of the text and reflections you post in Community Circles and direct messages. By contributing content, you grant HZen a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, and transmit your content solely to operate and improve the service.
We do not sell your reflections, license your posts to third-party data brokers, or train advertising models on your personal content. You may delete individual posts or request complete account erasure at any time.
09. Intellectual property
The HZen name, logo mark, visual design system, audio compositions, somatic breathwork exercises, and proprietary software are the property of HZen and its licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute sanctuary assets without express written consent.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to community members. You may terminate your account at any time. Upon account termination, the data retention and erasure standards detailed in our Privacy Policy apply immediately.
11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
HZen is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HZen and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HZen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your access to or inability to use the service.
12. Governing law & venue
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal proceeding arising out of these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Substantive revisions will be communicated in-app and reflected via the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of HZen following an update signifies your acceptance of the revised Terms.
